Things have been a bit odd, I have to admit. Not bad, of course. If the papers are to be a sign of what's to come I'm rather pleased at the changes. Still, I'm keeping an eye on it, see how things develop. Suppose can only keep fingers crossed.

It's been an interesting day. I'm rather fond of mystery spells, makes for an interesting, if not slightly trying day. Still, we found it in the end and was a bit of a fun afternoon. Other than that, things have been quite busy. It isn't that unusual really, though I find it much easier to get absorbed in my coursework and the hospital at this time of year. Private Bit anxious about what's been going on lately. Heard a few times that the Ministry's working on some new law or something. I can only imagine, maybe they'll start picking on halfbloods next.

Another demonstration with further casualties. One would hope these thing swould be handled with a bit more care. Private I can't help but feel a little excited at the mention of another demonstration. I was just thinking this morning that it would be brilliant to join. Yet, I know it's not the smartest thing to do. Not when it could be so dangerous. But if no one makes teir opinions know, nothing will ever happen, will it?

We've been back in class nearly a week and it feels like we never really left. Not that I mind, I'm quite enjoying the pace, but I will admit I was surprised when I realised it this morning. We're working on the skeleton at the moment, working on associated spells which are a lot more complicated than one might think. It makes sense, given the sheer number of months a body can naturally heal bones, but it would be good if I could practice properly at home. Though that would be rather complicated. Still, second semester into my training, and I'm managing relatively well, which is a good sign, isn't it? At least it's keeping me out of Diagon Alley, Merlin knows what a sight that must have been this week. St. Mungo's was quite abuzz, I hope everyone was okay.

I hope everyone's had a lovely Christmas. It's still the holidays, so we still have a couple days left until I have to go back to St. Mungo's, but I'm sure most people have returned to work by now. As yesterday was bank holiday, mum and dad were both at home though we spent most of it out, went to Aunt Nic's for a few hours and then went walking in the afternoon. t was lovely actually, though it's one of those rare moments where my siblings actually behave themselves. Still, I hope everyone had a good one,a nd an even better New Year!

Part of me is going to be really glad when the holidays are over. At the very least, going to Diagon Alley might be less of a threat on your life! I went yesterday, hoping that to get the last gifts for my family before the queues get far too long. Or at least that was the plan until some man accosted me in front of Flourish. Since when is mistletoe even a rule? Nothing says you have to kiss people just because you happen to be under it. If it had just been the one time... but no at least three different shops! I was ready to hex someone by the end of it. I hate shopping.

It's been a good day so far, even if mum made a point of waking me up at six this morning. At last it was with cake, which I am starting to think how all days should start. It does make it that little bit more bearable. Not that I have anything against morning, it' the perfect time to go for a run, and I quite enjoy the crisp air, but I do also thoroughly enjoy my bed. Then class was interesting today, though there are so very few days that I don't find interesting or enjoyable. However that's the point of training, isn't it? Learn new things, find a challenge and do something you enjoy. Granted, I'm only three months in, but I know I'm ready for it. Nothing much planned this evening but a few of us are going to go out tomorrow, which should be fun. [Private] 19 now. I don't really feel any different, but I suppose most people don't. I've been trying to keep up with the election but things just seem so futile. The wizengamot is surely going to elect someone who favours the current system. If they didn't, we wouldn't be where we are today, I just don't know why they bother going through the motions.
